From Outdated to Outstanding: A Complete Kitchen Transformation in Sacramento
When our client in Sacramento came to us, their kitchen was outdated, inefficient, and no longer matched the lifestyle they wanted. Old cabinets, worn-out countertops, poor lighting, and aging plumbing made the space frustrating to use every day. They needed a trusted local contractor who could handle everything — from demolition to the final finishing touch — without surprises, delays, or hidden costs.
That’s exactly what Tenax Construction delivered.
The Challenge: A Kitchen That No Longer Worked
The existing kitchen had several serious issues:
- Outdated cabinets that were falling apart and wasting space
- Old windows that let in drafts and reduced energy efficiency
- Inadequate lighting — no under-cabinet lights, no ceiling can lights, poor visibility
- Aging plumbing and electrical that didn’t meet modern standards
- Worn tile and backsplash that made the space look tired and dated
- No functional hood system above the range
The client wanted a full kitchen remodel in Sacramento that would not only look beautiful but also function better for everyday cooking, entertaining, and family life.
Our Solution: A Full Kitchen Remodel from Start to Finish
Tenax Construction developed a comprehensive plan and executed every phase of the project with precision. Here’s how we solved each problem:
🔨 Demolition — Clearing the Way for Something Better
Before anything new could go in, the old had to come out — the right way. Our crew carefully removed:
- Drywall around the windows and range area
- Old kitchen cabinets and countertops
- Existing wall tile and backsplash
- Outdated lighting fixtures, outlets, and switches
- Old appliances and range hood
- Existing windows
- All old plumbing and electrical lines
Professional demolition is the foundation of any successful kitchen renovation in Sacramento. Done right, it protects the structure of the home and sets the stage for flawless installation.
🪟 New Windows — More Light, Better Efficiency
To solve the drafty, dark window problem, we installed 3 brand-new Milgard vinyl windows in the kitchen. Milgard is one of California’s most trusted window brands, known for:
- Superior energy efficiency — important for Sacramento’s hot summers
- Excellent noise reduction
- Long-lasting durability with low maintenance
The new windows immediately brightened the space and improved the home’s overall energy performance.
🔌 Electrical Upgrade — Safe, Modern, and Smart
Outdated wiring was a safety concern and a functional limitation. Our licensed electricians completely re-routed the electrical system and installed:
- New wiring for outlets and all lighting circuits
- PRADO outlets — premium, modern outlets designed for kitchen use
- Wiring for LED lights inside the cabinets
- Wiring for ceiling can lights throughout the kitchen
- Wiring for switches and outlets in all the right places
Every electrical upgrade was performed to California code by our licensed team, giving the client peace of mind and a kitchen ready for modern appliances.
🚿 Plumbing — Functional and Future-Ready
The old plumbing layout didn’t support the new kitchen design. We re-routed the plumbing entirely and installed:
- New plumbing lines above the range
- A new faucet and garbage disposal
- A second faucet above the range for added convenience
Clean, properly routed plumbing means no leaks, no future headaches, and a kitchen that works the way it should.
🗄️ Custom Cabinet Installation — Storage That Makes Sense
One of the biggest transformations in this Sacramento kitchen remodel was the cabinetry. We:
- Removed all old cabinets
- Installed brand-new custom kitchen cabinets with modern hardware
- Built and installed a new hood frame above the range
- Wrapped the hood in stone-look finish (skin rock wrap) for a high-end, custom appearance
The result: a kitchen with smart storage, clean lines, and a designer look that fits the home perfectly.
🧱 Tile Backsplash — The Finishing Touch That Ties It All Together
A beautiful kitchen tile backsplash installation completed the look:
- New tile installed across the kitchen wall
- Backsplash installed in the primary work zone
The tile backsplash is not just decorative — it protects the walls from moisture and grease while adding a polished, professional finish to the space.
💡 Lighting — Layered, Modern, and Functional
Poor lighting was one of the client’s biggest complaints. We solved it with a full kitchen lighting upgrade:
- Chandelier above the kitchen island — a stunning focal point
- HALO recessed can lights in the ceiling — bright, even illumination
- LED lights inside the cabinets — perfect for visibility and ambiance
The layered lighting system allows the homeowner to set the right mood — bright and functional for cooking, warm and inviting for entertaining.
The Result: A Kitchen Worth Showing Off
What was once a frustrating, outdated space is now the heart of the home. The client got:
✅ A fully modernized kitchen with new cabinets, windows, and tile
✅ Safe, up-to-code electrical and plumbing systems
✅ Energy-efficient Milgard windows
✅ Designer lighting with chandelier, can lights, and LED cabinet lights
✅ A custom hood with stone-look finish
✅ A kitchen that adds real value to their Sacramento home
