Tenax Construction Inc. recently completed a comprehensive interior renovation for a homeowner in Sacramento, CA (95838), combining a full bathroom remodel with a front entry flooring upgrade and a whole-house baseboard refresh. This project showcases our team’s ability to manage multi-scope remodels—from demolition and rough plumbing to custom tile work and finish carpentry—all under one coordinated timeline.

Below is a detailed breakdown of the work performed.
Front Entry Flooring Tile Installation
The front entry sets the tone for the entire home, so we started with a complete flooring transformation.
- Demolition: Our crew fully demolished, scraped, and removed the existing front entry floor tile and underlayment down to the raw subfloor substrate. Existing perimeter wood baseboards were carefully detached, indexed, and de-nailed for salvage and reinstallation.
- Subfloor Preparation: We cleaned, patched, leveled, and installed underlayment as needed to create a smooth, stable base for the new tile.
- Tile Installation: Precise layout, cutting, setting, and spacing of the floor tile system ensured proper alignment across the entire entry footprint, using a standard pattern execution for a clean, professional finish.
- Grouting: Grout was mixed and applied between tiles to seal all joints, followed by thorough cleanup and surface polishing.
- Baseboard Reset: The salvaged baseboards were reinstalled to restore a seamless perimeter.
Material note: Floor tile, grout, and Schluter profiles were supplied within a defined per-square-foot allowance. Because some tile is sold only by the box, slight overages may apply depending on the selected product and vendor.
Whole-House Baseboard & Paint Refresh
To unify the home’s interior, we replaced and refinished baseboards throughout the entire house.
- Demolition: All existing baseboards throughout the home were removed, with full surface protection, debris management, and site cleanup.
- Installation: New standard-profile baseboard (5½” default) was measured, cut, and installed. Profile style and height were confirmed during the design phase.
- Painting & Staining: All new pre-primed baseboards were sanded, masked, primed, painted, and cleaned up for a crisp, finished look.
Material note: Interior/exterior paint and baseboard materials were supplied within defined allowances. Non-standard or decorative profiles and specialty coatings are available upon request.
Complete Bathroom Remodel
The centerpiece of this project was a full bathroom remodel—transforming an outdated, single-sink space into a modern, spa-inspired retreat with a double vanity and floor-to-ceiling tile shower.
Project Preparation & Permitting
Our team developed the design plans, gathered homeowner requirements, presented and refined concepts, and produced a permit-ready set of plans. We handled all permit paperwork with the building department and scheduled and attended every required inspection. (Government fees are paid by the homeowner; structural/engineering plans are excluded.)
Demolition & Debris Removal
We removed the single-sink vanity, countertop, drop-in sink, and oversized mirror; the fiberglass tub and integrated surround down to bare framing; the existing floor tile and underlayment; and all wood baseboards. The existing toilet and vanity light were removed and relocated. All construction debris was hauled to an approved disposal facility.
Rough Plumbing
We roughed-in and modified water supply lines, valves, and drainage—including toilet flange relocation/centering, a single-to-double vanity plumbing conversion, shower valve installation, bathtub installation, and code-compliant DWV piping. Concrete trenching and patching were included.
- Fixtures supplied: Nicoli Champagne Bronze single-handle 6-spray tub and shower faucet (valve included) and a Classic 500 60″ x 32″ alcove deep soaking bathtub in high-gloss white.
Interior Surface Restoration
Drywall was patched after demolition and plumbing modifications, then prepped, primed, and painted with premium moisture-resistant finishes across the entire bathroom footprint.
Flooring
The subfloor was prepped and leveled before new floor tile was laid out, cut, set, and grouted across the full bathroom footprint with proper leveling and alignment. (Baseboard installation for this room is covered under the whole-house baseboard scope.)
Vanity Installation
We unboxed, positioned, leveled, and securely anchored a prefabricated double-sink vanity—the Hepburn 72″ Double Sink Bathroom Vanity and Linen Cabinet with Carrara White Quartz Top in Oak—shimmed and fastened to structural wall studs.
Plumbing Fixtures
Final-stage installation included a new high-efficiency toilet, two Nicoli J-Spout Champagne Bronze widespread faucets, and the tub/shower trim kit, followed by full leak and function testing.
Electrical Fixtures
Two separate vanity light fixtures were mounted, wired, and connected over the dual-basin area, including rough-in wiring modifications for the new fixture locations, plus functional testing.
Custom Tile Shower Enclosure
This was a standout feature of the remodel:
- Surfaces were cleaned, leveled, and primed for tile.
- Tile was set across all three shower alcove walls, running continuously up to the 9-foot ceiling, wrapping the window jamb profile, and finishing the interior of a custom recessed niche.
- The niche was framed and installed for both function and style.
Finish Accessories
We installed two new wall mirrors, towel bars/rings, and toilet paper holders to complete the space.
