When homeowners invest in a full custom remodel, they’re not just buying new cabinets or flooring — they’re trusting a team with their vision, their budget, and their home. In this in-depth client testimonial, Taylor shares his firsthand experience working with Tenax Construction Inc. on a large-scale luxury remodel in Sacramento, California — and explains why he’s already hired the team for a second project.
Why Taylor Chose Tenax Construction Over Other Contractors
Like any savvy homeowner, Taylor didn’t settle for the first contractor he met. He interviewed several construction companies in the Sacramento area before choosing Tenax Construction — and the decision came down to three key factors:
- Proven track record online. Taylor had reviewed Tenax’s work through Google reviews and saw consistent 5-star craftsmanship.
- A trusted personal referral from a friend who had worked with the team.
- A detailed, design-first approach that included full 3D renderings before a single wall came down.
“What Tenax offered over them is more of a detailed approach of the design and 3D renderings. It was just seamless.” — Taylor
While other companies sent representatives or sales staff, Tenax brought the owners, designers, and project managers directly to the table — a level of involvement that made Taylor feel like a true partner, not just a customer.
A Design-First Process That Delivers Show-Stopping Results
One of the biggest differentiators Taylor noticed was Tenax’s commitment to collaborative design. From the very first consultation, designer Elizabeth and project manager Vitali worked hand-in-hand with Taylor to develop a vision that balanced his personal style with their professional expertise.
“I wanted their ideas because they do this every day and I don’t. I really wanted something that was show-stopping — and that’s what we put together.”
This collaborative mindset is at the heart of every successful custom remodel. Taylor originally wanted green lower cabinets and white uppers, but after trusting the Tenax design team’s recommendation, he ended up with warm brown cabinetry that tied the entire home together.
The lesson for future clients: keep an open mind. The best remodels happen when homeowners and designers truly collaborate.
The Favorite Space: A Custom Car-View Office
Every remodel has a “wow” moment, and for Taylor, it’s his custom home office — a space designed around his passion for cars.
During a walkthrough with the Tenax team, Taylor noticed his office shared a wall with his garage. The idea? Tear the wall down and replace it with commercial-grade glass and a glass door, turning his vehicle into a living piece of art visible from his desk. Automatic lighting activates the moment you step inside.
“I could live in that office.”
This is exactly the kind of bold, custom vision that distinguishes Tenax Construction from cookie-cutter remodelers — they don’t just execute plans, they help bring out ideas homeowners didn’t even know they had.
The Final Reveal: Exceeding Every Expectation
The true test of a remodel isn’t the contract signing — it’s the final reveal. For Taylor, that moment came at a surprise birthday party hosted in his newly finished home, with 30 guests walking through the space for the first time.
“Every single person came up and complimented the house. That exceeded my expectations.”
Social proof doesn’t get more real than that. The quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail spoke for themselves.
Communication, Craftsmanship & Trust
Throughout the entire project, Taylor emphasized three qualities that made the Tenax experience stand out:
- Responsiveness — Every question or change request was addressed immediately.
- Craftsmanship — The quality of work was visibly superior to other contractors’ portfolios.
- Integrity — “They stand on what they say they’re going to do, and they do it.”
That’s why Taylor is already working with Tenax Construction on a second property remodel down the street.
